Art & Nature at Salem Creek

The movement and sounds of water have always inspired artists. At Salem Creek in the Gateway Nature Preserve, kids and adults can explore the potential of water to make art, music, and poetry.

Paint with mud, make music with water, and create sand pictures with the objects that wash up on the “beach.” By special arrangement, LB the Poet and students from the Winston-Salem Street School will perform poetry inspired by the location, and in turn work with visitors to create their own poetry.

Come when you wish and visit the four activity stations at your own pace. The event is geared to families but can be enjoyed by anyone who wants to stretch their creative side.

In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 7.

Enter the Washington Park parking lot at 1490 S. Broad St. and follow the signs. For more information, email gatewaynaturecenter@gmail.com.
